Budgeting app alternatives compared
Most budgeting apps connect to your bank, store your finances in their cloud and charge every year. Imago takes the opposite approach: $49 once, no account, no bank login, and your data stays on your device. Here is how it compares with the apps people usually consider, using each company's own pages (checked 15 September 2026).

- Imago and Actual Budget install on Android from the browser. Copilot's apps are listed for iPhone, iPad, Mac and web.
- Actual Budget syncs devices through a server you run or rent. Imago has no server, so you move data between devices with export and import.

Who Imago is not for
If you need transactions to arrive from your bank automatically, live investment prices, or a budget shared in real time across many phones, one of the apps above will suit you better. Imago is for people who are happy to import a CSV and want their finances to stay theirs.
No card, no account, no email. Everything you enter stays on your device, and buying a license keeps it exactly where you left off.
